Hey, I'll comment, 'cause I know a thing or two about this compilation.

You said:
"A compilation with the likes of the Burden Brothers, Black Tie Dynasty, Fair to Midland, The Hourly Radio, Comrade, Erykah Badu, Play ‘N Skillz, Dirty South Rydaz, Money Waters, etc. would have gotten a much different review [and] would have reached many more of the potential, atypical voters."

With a few exceptions, all those names were approached with an appeal to contribute, along with many other Dd favorites, but could not due to limits in schedules, contracts, availability or other factors. We got as broad as we could within our own limits of taste and time. Though we were disappointed by some of the omissions, we are thrilled by what we were able to put on there.

The other point to consider is the real intent of the CD. While we certainly will be glad if someone learns of Zac Crain through picking up the CD, that audience is tautologically restrained to local music CD buyers. Instead, the CD as a concept has landed us both in print and pixels in every major news outlet in the city, plus afforded us some national exposure. And as a fundraising mechanism, we're confident that its success will allow Zac's message to travel much farther than, say, the shoppers at Good Records.

But, overall, I think you treat the record fairly. Thank you, Sam. I'm proud of it. More importantly, I like listening to it. I'm glad you do, too.
